O data in viata, China ep.20 Templul Cerului / Once in a Lifetime, China 20th.ep. Temple of Heaven, Beijing

Tian Tan or the Temple of Heaven is an important objective for the tourists coming to Beijing. Here came the emperor, twice a year, to ask the Gods to give good harvests to China. It is a whole complex, built in 1424, of which we visited the main Hall of Prayers for Good Harvests. A very elaborated construction, made entirely of wood, with not a single nail used! The motiffs of dragon and phoenix represent the emperor and the empress. The blue color represents the heaven. The Temple lies on a three round tiers of marble.

In the park, a lot of people, especially retirees, come to relax by dancing, singing, playing chess, and many other activities. A combined entry ticket for both park and temple is 35 RMS, aprox. 4 euros.

I wish to let you know that I will not post till the end of the month. I would like to thank to everybody who read my blog, who leaves comments and who follows the China series. I will be back here after January, 1. Till then, I wish you all, in advance, a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!  May that next year will bring you health, happiness, all your dreams come true and a lot of interesting travels!

Inainte de efctuarea ritualului, imparatul postea 2 zile in Orasul interzis si apoi, o a 3-a zi aici, in Palatul Abstinentei. Abia dupa aceea se ruga in Tian Tan.

If these walls and roofs were designed by hands, this is really a must see and visit. Just by staring at the photos, I'm already impressed. Intricately done by the people of China.
