Calator in Thailanda 6. Wat Phan On / Traveller in Thailand 6. Wat Phan On

Not far from Wat Muen Lan it is another small temple called Wat Phan On. It was built in 1501, during the reign of King Phra Muang Kaeo. The main entrance to the viharn is guarded by a pair of singha. The gate and the windows are beautifully adorned.

Two students approached me explaining they have as task to exercise their English and learn about foreign countries. I answered to their questions and then we took a photo together.

The most interesting element here is the golden, big chedi. There are chads (filigraned umbrellas) to the four corners. In front of the chedi more bells offer you wellness and happiness if you touch them all. The sound may be combined with that of the gong.

Templul a fost construit in 1501, in timpul domniei regelui Phra Muang Kaeo.

Mai intai, m-au rugat sa le spun cate ceva despre tara mea, apoi au urmat cateva intrebari uzuale despre vizita mea in Chiang Mai (a cata vizita este, daca imi place si ce am vazut pana acum, daca am incercat mancarea traditionala, etc.).

I have some instagram friends and learned last year that they were flooded, some temples included. Glad you went to Thailand with good weather. Thailand is beautiful with all these wonderful temples. I smiled seeing your photos with two local girls. Photo with locals for me are always the best part of traveling. Love your photos as always, my dear friend.

Thank you, Rizalenio. I followed the flood situation all October and November and I saw a lot of videos on YouTube. There are still patches of water around Bangkok and in the city still a lot of sand bags but slowly the situation is normalized.

Simply amazing! One must feel much peace and tranquility at such a spiritual place.

It is so especially when there are not many peole around, Doug. In this particular temple, may be because it was already late, this was the case, and it was very pleasant.

Also another wonderful photo-report series. Glad you got an explanation of students who were learning English. The golden chedi is beautiful. Also your last picture of that huge tree is magnificent.
