Momente din Seul 10. O nunta regala / Seoul Moments 10. Enactment of a Royal Wedding

In different places in the city, Koreans organize enactments of historical or traditional events. A lot of tourists gather there to see, to take photos or to film. It is a good opportunity to teach others your traditions and history, a wonderful idea!

While visiting the War Memorial, I stumbled upon the enactment of a royal wedding. It was like the ones I keep seeing in the Korean dramas, on TV or internet. I did not understand the words of the ceremony but the colorful costumes, the actors, the specific music and the gadgets were, all in all, a good performance to follow. I felt myself like part of a fairy tale.

There is not much to tell about the event, just watch the photos!

Undeva, mai sus, alte doamne pregateau actorii sa intre in "scena". Eunucii (cei imbracati in verde) erau prezenti, cu umbrelele. In spate, se vedea toata tehnica de lupta a razboiului corean...
Oaspetii erau deja nerabdatori. A sosit si tobosarul, care marca momentele importante. Cand m-a vazut  postata in fata lui, s-a oprit si a pozat.
In sfarsit, alaiul s-a pus in miscare.

A urmat regele. Toata curtea era prosternata, iar generalii conduceau alaiul.
Regina s-a sculat in picioare si ea, in asteptarea regelui, iar generalii si-au ocupat locul.
In sfarsit, regele a ajuns fata in fata cu regina si ceremonialul putea incepe.

Traveling Hawk said...

Zile frumoase iti doresc!

Cool! It's a TV show or a special occasion? Anyhow, you were lucky to witness such event.

Traveling Hawk said...

Neither, Hanjie! South Koreans use enactments of traditions and history events to atract tourists to different objectives. So is the changing of the royal guards, which I witnessed to 2 palaces. My next post will show this.

Thanks for the visit!
