I saw the Old Town when I went on the terrace, at our accommodation in Ulcinj. It was right there, under our nose! So, we went to visit.
We arrived there when the sun begun to descend. Nice views are revealed towards the sea, at sunset.
Unfortunately, my expectations for the Old Town have been too high. I believed I will see something similar to the old towns in Croatia, but this one was much smaller and only few buildings have been renovated and used. Most of them for restaurant and terraces.
Nevertheless, we took a walk, enjoying the views. Only few people have been in the fortress, and most of them headed for the restaurants. It is a pity because the other houses could be put to other uses too.
Noi am ajuns acolo cand soarele incepea deja sa apuna. Am urcat treptele dinspre plaja mica si nu ne-a trebuit prea mult timp ca sa parcurgem aceasta zona "turistica". Eu as zice mai mult "culinara", oameni intalnind mai ales in zona celor cateva restaurante.

lovely pictures, and I like the stone buildings!
Duncan In Kuantan
I guess that every day one may have another view from the fortress. It's a nice place to observe the sea, Life Ramblings.
Thanks, Rizalenio, you are too kind:)
Welcome to my blog, Virginia, and thanks for the comment!
Yes, Duncan, the restaurated stone buildings are beautiful. I like them too. All the coast of the Adriatic Sea is full of them. I saw a lot in Croatia too, even more beautiful.
Ulcinj in Montenego may not be the elaborate old town like Dubrovnik of Croatia, but is has plenty of charm of its own. And you captured it marvelously.
that's grand! i can explore the entire castle the whole day. too many great spot for photoshoot.
Some of these places have an Italian flavor...
I must admit it, Francisca. Thanks for the appreciation!
The fortress is very small, dong ho. You will not need a whole day but I agree there are a lot of places to be photographed. Thanks for the visit!
Yes, you are right, VP! There is an expanation: as I wrote in my previous post, the place was ruled for over 150 years by the Republic of Venetia. And so was all the coast.
But you managed to take some great photos there! I love this set!
Amazing place, stunning pictures!!!
Thanks, Joo!
Hello, Phivos! Thanks for the remarks.
What a wonderful place. I love that little marina.
It's really little, situated in a bay where the Little Beach is too, near the center of the town. Thanks for the visit, Randy.
What an exhilarating adventure roaming around the ancient stones of this picturesque fortress by the sea. Beautiful and pleasantly enchanting.
Thanks, Doug, for the appreciation.
Some wonderful photography here Traveling Hawk.
I'm grateful for the appreciation, J_on_tour!
