Arigato, Japonia! 21. Kodai-ji / Arigato, Japan! 21. Kodai-ji

We are still in Higashiyama district, which covers the whole part of Kyoto, which harbours a lot of temples. Here I will present you one of the temples I liked a lot, Kodai-ji. Nene, with her whole name Kita-no-Mandokoro, erected this temple in 1605, after her husband's death. The shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu financed the construction.

After the entrance, I passed near a little tea house, broght here from elsewhere, and I saw Garyoro, the Reclining Dragon Corridor. Passing through a covered corridor, which enabled me to see the fine art on the sliding doors, I remain to admire a little dry garden, where stone dragons slept, under the pale pink flowers of a weeping cherry tree. There were not so many people, and they kept silence, so it was very nice to stay there for a while.

Then, I climbed the hill to see the other tea houses. On the way, other halls offered me the painted details of the pillars. Coming down, along a little bamboo grove, I got a glimpse of the huge Buddha statue at the entrance of Ryozen Cannon temple, which I have not visited.

This was a rewarding visit, which I enjoyed very much.

Ne aflam tot in cartierul Higashiyama, care acopera tot estul orasului Kyoto.

Minunate paravanele, nu-i ceva ce poti vedea in afara Japoniei :)

Thank you, VP!
