Momente din Seul 34. Gangnam - La revedere si multumesc, Seul! / Seoul Moments 34. Gangnam - Good By and Thank You, Seoul!

My last post about Seoul will be about Gangnam, meaning the part of the town South of the River Han, which divide the metropolis in two parts. If in the North we find almost all the palaces, temples and old monuments which witnessed the history of the city, here, in the South the new town is developing.

Teheran Road, for example, is the center of the Korean IT, nicknamed "Teheran Valley" to create an anlogy with the American "Sillicon Valley". All the important software and IT companies have their headquarters here. But this is also the center of fashion and art. And also, Kukkiwon, an association promoting the national sport, Taekwondo, has the headequarter in Gangnam. If I would add other attractions as COEX, Bongeunsa Temple and Seonjeongneung with the royal tombs, about which I told you already, you will better understand why the tourists cannot miss Gangnam. On the many roads of Gangnam, everybody may find something to enjoy.

This time I will only show you some photos, and you will choose what you like.

Seoul being a city far less visited by my fellow countrymen heading to Asia, than, let's say, Hong Kong, Singapore, Beijing or Bangkok, I wanted to show them what kind of tradition, history and culture has this town to offer. And if I saw all these in only 7 days, just think how many one could see if the stay will be longer, and extended to all this beautiful country, where I felt myself safe every moment and where I gathered so many nice and unforgettable memories! Ultima mea postare despre Seul se va referi la Gangnam, adica partea de oras de la sud de raul Han, care imparte metropola in doua. Daca la nordul raului gasim aproape toate palatele, templele si monumentele vechi care pastreaza istoria orasului, aici, in sud, creste orasul nou.

Bulevardul Teheran, de exemplu, este centrul IT-ului coreean, alintat cu porecla de "Teheran Valley", pentru a face o analogie cu faimosul Sillicon Valley american. Aici isi au sediul numeroase companii de software si IT. Tot aici insa este si centrul modei si al artei, Apgujeong-dong si Cheongdam-dong fiind cunoscute pentru asta. Kukkiwon, o asociatie pentru promovarea sportului national corean care este Taekwondo, isi are sediul tot in Gangnam. Daca as mai adauga alte atractii precum COEX, Templul Bongeunsa sau Seonjeongneung cu mormintele regale, despre care vi-am povestit deja, veti intelege de ce turistul venit la Seul nu poate rata Gangnamul. Fiecare poate gasi ceva pe placul sau aici, pe numeroasele bulevarde ale cartierului.

De data asta va voi arat doar niste fotografii, lasandu-va sa alegeti ce va place.

Seul fiind un oras mult mai putin vizitat de catre compatriotii mei care se indreapta spre Asia decat, sa zicem, Hong Kong, Singapore, Beijing sau Bangkok, am dorit sa va povestesc si sa va arat ce traditie, istorie si cultura bogata are acest oras atat de ofertant pentru turisti! Si daca toate acestea am reusit sa le vad doar in 7 zile, ganditi-va cate s-ar putea vedea daca ati aloca mai mult timp pentru vizitarea Coreei de Sud, o tara frumoasa si civilizata, in care m-am simtit in siguranta in orice moment si care mi-a daruit cu generozitae atatea amintiri frumoase! La revedere si multumesc, Seoul!

Further, I enter in a yard were I see Birojeon or the Hall with Budha Vairocana. The construction was erected on 751, has been burnt by the Japanese invaders and rebuilt on 1666.

The Saritap from the yard, a stupa of 206 cm heigh, was built by the widow of a king, during the 800s. My attention is drawn by the small pebbles piles. They are left by the believers who asked something from the Gods.

The next construction is Gwaneumjeon, where one may see  Gwanseeum Bosal or the Hearer of Cries, who always hears and helps people in need.


Before I leave the temple, I admire the big bell. Near the exit gate, a wonderful fir-tree is blooming once again, adding another year to the centuries of the temple...

Mai departe intru intr-o curte adiacenta celei care adaposteste pavilionul principal si dau de un altul, mai mic, numit Birojeon sau Holul cu Budha Vairocana, cel care intruchipeaza Adevarul, Intelepciunea si Puterea cosmica. Constructia dateaza din 751, a fost arsa de japonezi si reconstruita in 1666. Reconstruirea s-a facut pe baza pietrelor de temelie ale cladirii, datand din perioada Shilla si folosind planuri din timpul dinastiei Joseon. Un Budha din bronz bogat aurit, masurand 177 cm inaltime, se afla in centru.

In curte, imi atrage atentia Saritap (nume initial Gwanghak), o stupa de 206 cm inaltime, construita in anii 800 de catre sotia unui rege al Shillei, care dupa moartea sotului ei s-a calugarit, luind numele budist Gwanghak. In timpul Shillei unificate, multi regi si regine s-au calugarit. Aceasta stupa a fost dusa in Japonia in 1905 dar a fost inapoiata in 1933. In prezent, in Coreea de Sud exista o intensa preocupare de recuperare a comorilor sale istorice si culturale, risipite in multe parti ale lumii, inclusiv in Europa. Televiziunea prezinta, in pauzele dintre programe, mici filme documentare despre comorile regasite.

Tot aici in curte vad acele movilite formate din pietre, care pot parea curioase unora dar care reprezinta ruga celor care au trecut pe aici, catre zei. Indiferent ce-si doresc ei, nu uita sa construiasca aceste mici gramezi si, dupa cum vedeti, nu sunt putini cei care s-au conformat acestui obicei.

O scara frumoasa ne desparte de urmatoarea curte, care adaposteste Gwaneumjeon sau Altarul lui Avalokitesvara, unde se afla Gwanseeum Bosal sau Cel Care Aude Strigatele. El ii ajuta intotdeauna pe cei aflati in suferinta, care striga dupa ajutor. Statuia originala data din 922.

Pe aleile minunatului parc in care se afla templul, ma indrept spre iesire, nu inainte de a admira clopotul templului si de a vizita micul magazin de suveniruri.

In drum spre poarta de iesire din complex, un brad superb a inflorit langa acoperisul traditional, adaugand inca un an de viata la secolele templului...
